Chartwell Church’s Inaugural Eco Church Awards

Tied into Sunday’s Service of Creation service, was the introduction of Eco Awards presented by Tim and Anna Cox. A big thanks to Tim and Anna Cox for their continued efforts as supporters of our place within the Eco Church family and as advocates for the environment. The Eco Church awards are an acknowledgement of the actions by members of our parish towards environmental change and improvement.

Here are the list of awardees:

  • Becky for her efforts within her community and other areas to raise awareness and get involved.

  • Jack and Kobi Brinkman for their large and continued efforts to Pukemokemoke, the installation of solar panels at church and their support of our island neighbours in need.

  • Ellen Webb for her great work in all things environmental, her research and her advocacy.

  • Robin and Judy Holdsworth for their work as champions for gully restoration and cultivating for the annual church fair.

  • Trevor and Barbara Bennett: for their tireless work cultivating and selling plants for decades while also supporting missional work.

  • Emily Cox acknowledged for her efforts in gully planting and restoration and bringing awareness to climate change issues.

  • Warwick and Jan Silvester have played a massive role in the development of Pukemokemoke, our move to join Eco Church NZ, installation of solar panels, more efficient lighting, the Pataka Kai and so much more!

  • Amanda and Erica thanked for their role in running the fair and book sale which encourages us all to recycle and reuse.
