A Rocha Resource Hub

Creation care resources for churches, educators and individuals. The A Rocha Resource Hub gathers curated materials from the A Rocha global family in a range of languages and formats about the interplay between creation care and the Christian faith. We are committed to cultural diversity and hope to host an increasing number of resources created by local conservation practitioners and theologians around the world. All the resources on the Hub have been carefully evaluated by our committee and come with A Rocha’s wholehearted endorsement. Many have been created by current or former A Rocha staff and volunteers from around the world, but we also feature resources which align with our five commitments and the A Rocha Commitment to Creation Care.

Preaching for God’s World

Preaching for God’s World is a resource for preachers, which offers thoughts and reflections on each Sunday’s Revised Common Lectionary readings viewed through the lens of the Anglican Five Marks of Mission – in particular on caring for people and planet. The website offers weekly preaching notes based on the New Revised Common Lectionary, through the lens of Care for Creation. This is a joint resource from the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, A Rocha International, USPG, Anglican Alliance and the Episcopal Diocese in Europe. You can sign up for weekly notes delivered to your email.

Let Justice & Peace Flow - Season of Creation resource pack

2023 is the first year the Salvation Army NZFTS has officially invited all Salvation Army centres to participate in the Season of Creation -- and they've created Let Justice & Peace Flow - Season of Creation Resource Pack to go along with this invitation! The resource includes sermon notes, prayers, video links, youth group plan and children’s church plan.

Young people care for creation at youth camp

In January this year, members of the St. Barnabas Youth Group exercised their faith and kaitiakitanga as they helped eradicate wilding pines. The camp took place at Glenroy Lodge near Hororata last weekend, with a Caring for Creation theme. The young people rolled up their sleeves and got involved in removing wilding pines from an area near Porters Ski Field entrance.

In 2019, our church, Massey Community Church in West Auckland, ran a four week series entitled ‘Creation Care’. For the first time in my long experience of church, I encountered in-depth teaching on the biblical mandate we have as followers of Jesus to care for creation – the earth as well as its people.
